North Richmond has lots of land and many attractive features, including the shoreline.
Unfortunately, it has attracted speculators bringing massive warehouses, unwanted traffic, and unwanted business.
In allowing this type of extractive development, the County entities have largely ignored the best interest of the neighborhood.
Projects
CenterPoint Properties: 506 Brookside
CenterPoint Properties Warehouse Project | Contra Costa County, CA Official Website
- The project will be constructed across from the The North Richmond Farm and backs end into Verde school.
- It will have three warehouses. It’s approximately 555,500 square feet on a 31.48-acre site.
- Here is the final EIR (posted on April 11).
- The County Planning Commission will hear the project on May 11.
Panattoni Development Inc.: 411 Brookside
Panattoni Development Inc. has an option to purchase 411 Brookside.
This warehouse will shade the farm and reduce the amount of produce the farm can grow.
It will bring 150 vehicles daily into the neighborhood.
