We have an awesome community, and our seniors are our stars.
July 4 with Ms. Eleanor Thompson
Ms. Eleanor has headed up a July event for 11 years, and this was her last year arranging the parade, cultural dance, community, vendors, and passing out backpacks. It was a great community gathering.
We salute Ms. Eleanor, her dedication and consistent work with the youth and the community.

North Richmond Blues Music Festival
The Blues Music Festival is another event our seniors enjoy. This event is put on by the North and Greater Music Foundation; this year was the 12th year.
The weather was beautiful. Live music, real instruments, big hats to shade the sun, and vendors.
The vibe was awesome. Some folks came casual, and some dressed up. I saw one of our elders with his pinstripe pants, linen shirt, straw hat, and nice kicks. I was like, “okay – I see you!”
Great time had by all!
