For North Richmond to be named an EJ community, the County continually ignores the health of the residents. The County sells us out every time.
Whether with the Centerpoint development, where there was no genuine community engagement. Or, the Lee cannabis business – where the community clearly said No to this business, but the County allowed it anyway. (It is the same with the Cannabis businesses in North Richmond by way of the City of Richmond.)
The whole process is disingenuous.
The business moves forward if the MAC says yes and the County already plans to say yes.
But, if the MAC says no, and the County was planning to say Yes, then the business still moves forward regardless of the MAC’s no vote.
It’s disgusting to hear some of the dialogue that has been normalized, including health for dollars.
We’ll need to bring legislators in to have any semblance of congruity.
Whew, sometimes it’s just too much.
If you’re a North Richmond resident and want to be part of the solution, drop us a line.
